The golden spice for muscle and joint pain.

Those who suffer from inflamed or stiff muscles and joints will be well aware of the impact that cold weather has during the winter months. The reduction in blood circulation to our extremities often exacerbates these symptoms.

Turmeric is a traditional, ancient Indian remedy, clinically proven to relieve muscular and joint discomfort.  A 2009 clinical trial tested the pain reduction qualities of turmeric against standard ibuprofen. 107 osteoarthritic patients had pain climbing stairs and walking. 52 of them received high strength turmeric extract daily and 55 received 800mg ibuprofen per day. After 6 weeks, both groups showed equally lower muscular and joint pain as well as improved joint function, suggesting turmeric is as effective as ibuprofen. Ibuprofen has been associated with multiple side effects, whereas clinical evidence has proven that turmeric has virtually no side effects.

Curcuminoids are the active compounds in turmeric responsible for the health benefits. The greater the number and strength of these curcuminoids, the more enhanced the effects. In order for turmeric to be the most clinically effective, it must have a strength of at least 95% curcuminoids and also be combined with 95% black pepper. The black pepper enhances their absorption into the blood by up to 2000%. This combination of high strength curcuminoids and increased absorption helps provide the full therapeutic power of the golden spice. Without the pepper, the curcuminoid-led effect on muscular and joint discomfort is significantly reduced. Not only does turmeric help with muscle and joint discomfort but it has also been shown to improve digestion and gut health.
